This site is the realization of a dream, actually. Since the dawn of the internet, I have been awed and fascinated by its capacity for unprecedented global communication. Truly it is the biggest thing to hit humanity since the telephone......and it's impact will be even more profound.

The ability to distribute and collect information via the internet is almost beyond comprehension. It will be many years before we can fully grasp the implications of the technology now at our disposal. The possibilities and scenarios that fill the imagination are downright scary! BUT.........

The ability to disseminate MISINFORMATION or MISGUIDED ADVICE via the 'Net is bone-chilling and horrific!!

And I have seen this first-hand..........

I have perused the chat rooms and hosted lists and bulletin boards and newsgroups ,etc.,etc,etc,

What I have seen, for the most part, are honest attempts at helpful advice. We all know that the trombone community is a close-knit one, and it's members, by and large, are great folks! We like to help each other out by offering advice, encouragement, direction, observations, etc.

In my opinion, however, some advice offered up (regardless of intent or motive) is just plain wrong, or worse........destructive.

The danger in accepting tid-bits of wisdom from this vastly democratic medium is this:

It's extremely difficult to evaluate the source!

It will be my goal to provide reliable, proven, honest responses to inquiries made on this site. This is my promise to you. If you manage to "stump" me with a particularly tough question or a subjective "value call", I WILL NOT ANSWER UNTIL I KNOW FOR SURE!

I have many friends in the trombone business.......I will find GOOD information to pass along. WELL-THOUGHT-OUT opinions, PROVEN formulae for success, KNOWLEDGEABLE advice, tips from PROFESSIONALS........
